Our Parent Teacher Organization provides fun educational events for our children as well as materials and support for our teachers

The GSES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Our PTO is the vibrant, “grassroots” part of the GSES community. PTO meetings allow us to:
• Identify and support enrichment opportunities for students and teachers
• Share news and information about developments and the school
• Raise ideas and input from parents and teachers about the direction of the school
• Plan and organize support for school functions and fundraising activities

PTO fundraisers generate dollars that expand and enrich our school. PTO funds have supported:

• Technology Enhancements and Purchases
• Faculty Continuing Education and Professional Development
• On-Site Theatre Productions
• Field Trip Subsidies
• Teacher Start Up Costs
• Author Visits
• Teacher appreciation Week

PTO Meetings

The GSES PTO typically meets at 5:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year.  Meetings typically last no longer than one hour.  Child care is provided free of cost and food is provided for all children and adults.  All parents and teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend and be heard.

Upcoming Fundraisers

Fawn Shop 2017

Fawn Shop has been a very special GSES tradition for the last 30 years. It is scheduled for December 4-8, 2017. The library is transformed into a Winter Wonderland where children can purchase gifts for family members and have them wrapped by “elves.” Elves will help your children find just the right gift for each family member. All items are between fifty cents and five dollars, a few at ten dollars. You set your child’s total budget. Payment is not due until shopping is complete and you will be billed no more than what you approved for spending. All proceeds benefit the GSES PTO.

A shopping list will be sent home in the red folders. Volunteers are needed to help decorate the library on Dec. 3, and to be an elf during the week to help the children shop and wrap presents. Please sign up using Sign Up Genius:

In order to make shopping inventory plentiful we need your help. Please consider donating up to 10 new items or “gently used” items to the Fawn Shop. A box is in the library to collect these items presently. Items needed include: pet toys, treats, handmade items, tools, gadgets, music, gift cards, jewelry, household items, coffee, tea, soaps, hats, gloves and much more!! Thank you for helping to make the Fawn Shop a wonderful and memorable experience for the students.
