Storytelling in Outdoor Education

Students storytelling with puppets in outdoor education

In Outdoor Education, all the world is indeed a stage! And children love using  animal puppets to tell stories and interact with the natural environment. Lower School students have been learning about animals living in the James River Park System and their habitats. Learning through storytelling boosts listening skills, fosters empathy, and encourages imagination and curiosity, among many other developmental benefits. Without a doubt (ask our kids!), science instruction coupled with imaginative storytelling results in boundless possibilities!
