Enrichment Classes

LIBRARY & TECHNOLOGY

Library classes foster a love of reading and fuel curiosity. Students may check out books each week from our collection of more than 7,000 volumes, which supports classroom learning, independent exploration, and recreational reading.

Beginning in third grade, students receive weekly, developmentally appropriate technology instruction focused on digital literacy, research, online safety, digital citizenship, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. Skills progress from keyboarding and Google Workspace in grades 3-5 to more advanced projects in digital design, media literacy, data privacy, and AI in middle school.

SPANISH

All students learn the phonetics, grammar and vocabulary of the Spanish language. They explore the culture, history and geography of Spanish-speaking countries. Students master simple phrases which they can use in everyday life. Middle school students graduate from 8th grade with high school Spanish credit.

Physical Education

Kindergarten - 8th grade students have two PE classes per week. Students learn and improve upon different physical skills while learning the rules and gameplay of many sports. We stress the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and having fun no matter the sport! 

WORLD RELIGIONS

Rooted in Good Shepherd’s Episcopal identity, World Religions invites students in grades 4-8 to explore faith as a lived human experience while developing curiosity, respect, and a deeper understanding of their place in the wider world. Students build a foundation in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, then expand their study to include the origins, sacred texts, worship practices, and cultural expressions of Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. Across all five years, students consider how culture, faith, and relationships with others shape both individual identity and community.
