Head Of School Search
SEARCH TIMELINE
Following Ken Seward’s announcement of his decision to step down as Head of School in June 2023, the Board of Trustees accepted his resignation with a deep appreciation for his service and announced that Lori Jobe would serve as Interim Head of School.
In preparation for identifying and selecting GSES's next permanent Head of School, the Board has engaged a national search firm experienced in recruiting Heads of School. The Board approved hiring The Education Group (TEG) and appointed Board Vice Chair Elizabeth Bass Cleland as the GSES Search Committee Chair.
The Education Group (TEG) was founded over thirty years ago and includes twenty consultants, many of whom worked for and with Episcopal schools. TEG consultants Katherine Stuart and Margaret Delk Moore will work with the GSES Search Committee and community throughout this search and the following transition process. Our two consultants are located in Virginia and are former Heads of School with experience in K-8 Episcopal schools.
TEG recommends and supports an inclusive process where all voices in the Good Shepherd Episcopal School’s community will have input in the process. The search committee ultimately will recommend one candidate for Board approval, but they will take into account many community perspectives and opinions. The Education Group has a thorough process and has already begun its initial work.
