About Good Shepherd Episcopal School (GSES)
Founded in 1971, a member of NAIS, and accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools, GSES serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Providing true educational choice in the Greater Richmond area, GSES delivers an individualized approach to education, combining a leveled learning environment with a nurturing community. Grounded in integrity, honesty, accountability, and a commitment to one another’s success, GSES students are supported in the development of a moral compass. The academic program includes instruction in the core academic subjects as well as music, art, Spanish, physical education, and library.
GSES is nestled in the Forest Hill community of Richmond, less than two short blocks away from Forest Hill Park and its newly renovated lake and grounds. Richmond itself offers varied and notable historic, cultural, dining and entertainment venues. A population over 200,000 calls this city home and the area houses headquarters to many notable organizations such as: Dominion Resources, Mead Westvaco, Ethyl Corporation, The Martin Agency, and Markel Corporation, as well as one of the nation’s Federal Reserve Banks.
